Yep, we’ve all been there. It’s Wednesday evening and it is raining outside. You are sitting in your PJs at your computer and just want to buy a second account for World of Warcraft (or another MMO you are playing). Well, contrary to popular belief, you do not have to go run out to Wal-Mart (in the pouring rain) and buy a boxed copy! You can digitally download World of Warcraft on your second PC and just register a new account. All you need is an account key from the box.
But who on earth is just going to sell me an account key for a game? Luckily for you my friend, there are companies who specialize in just that. They will open the box and E-mail you the account key within a handful of minutes (sometimes even seconds). All you need is a credit card, debit card or heck, even a Paypal account.
The best company I have dealt with so far has been a website called Shattered Crystal. What impressed me the most about them was the delivery time. In the past, I’ve bought an account key off of ebay (using Buy-it-now) and it took well over 24 hours to receive the key. ShatteredCrystal.com delivered my World of Warcraft account key faster than I could log into my own school e-mail account! Pretty snazzy eh? They also cater players of other MMOs as well. I am leaving a few out but those are the ones off the top of my head. Personally I have ordered WoW keys (burning crusade and regular WoW) and a LOTRO key from them with no problems whatsoever. Prices are the same as picking them up in the store.
Now, that you have gone to Shattered Crystal and snagged yourself an account key, you might need to download the game again. Luckily for you I have both links for the World of Warcraft client and the Burning Crusade Client. It’s about a 6 GB download, which took about 7 hours to download on my colleague’s laptop:
